Today I broke down and purchased my first country album from iTunes (notice I said from iTunes, not my first country album purchase), by a guy I like (not like that homophobes) Rodney Atkins. As I was listening on the way home I caught one of the lines from his song "My Old Man" that goes like this:
'Cause my folks are just like mountains, I looked at from afar.
But now the closer I get to them, the bigger they are.
Once I heard that I thought about how true that is to our relationship with God. Early in our walks we stare in awe and wonder at His majesty, even though we are far away from Him. Yet the more intimate and closer we get to Him, the longer we walk with Christ, the more we realize how amazing, vast, and magnificent He truly is. Ponder on this during your day. Hopefully it strikes you as it did me.
Scripture Memory Verse
"17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, "Fear not, I am the first and the last, 18and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades." ~ Revelation 1:17-18
