In light of being on the road alone for the last month, I came across this picture from the Pyromaniacs blog. I've had to help manage a couple of nasty accidents that involved the closure of some or all lanes of a particular section of US-101, but nothing like this. I can't even begin to think how I would handle this except to say I'd be down on my knees asking for two things: one, for God to take me into his kingdom at that exact moment, and two, for grace and kindness upon the people who have to try and get home with something like that blocking their way. I think this happened a while back, nonetheless, God's mercy on those first responders who had to deal with it.
