So it's official. The tazer is awesome. You see, we got trained in it today. I was not stupid enough however (sorry Justice) to volunteer to be tazed, but I did get to see 5 of my fellow officers take the full 5 second ride. Basically, these prongs shoot out of a cartridge at over 350 feet/sec and spread at a rate of 8 degrees every foot, or basically 1 foot for every 7 feet travelled, and they have what look like fish hooks on them and imbed in the skin, sending 50,000 volts of electricity through your body, immobilizing your sensory nervous system. This completely incapacitates the subject allowing the officer to gain physical control of them, i.e. handcuffs. So my answer to whether this is inhumane or not is this.
