Scripture Memory Verse

"17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, "Fear not, I am the first and the last, 18and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades." ~ Revelation 1:17-18

first of many

I worked last night. Let me explain to you how things go as a first time officer. You're basically on "break-in" for the first 55 days of your officer career. The first 5 are office/area orientation, basic stuff, getting to know your beats and fellow officers. Then the next 45 are split into 3 phases, of which i am now in the first phase. the first day of each phase is called "limbo day" where you don't get graded and it's sort of a free day, for lack of a better term. the last day i wrote about was my actual limbo day, so last night i actually drove the car and was intending on a ticket filled night. wrong. an hour into my shift shortly after citing someone and lighting them up for my first time, we got dispatched to a traffic collision, henceforth known as tc, where to make a long story short and basically avoid any legal ramifications since i don't know what i'm aloud to write about and what i'm not, i took my first tc and hooked (arrested) my first deuce (DUI) as a result. quite thrilling and nerve wrecking all at the same time. it's a pretty big deal to get that first one under your belt, almost like your first pursuit, fatal crash, or felony stop. can't post much more publicly, but if you ask you might get the 15 minute story firsthand ! thanks for your prayers. here's a good ol' pic from my academy days of me walking through a cloud of nerve gas. ah the academy. sniff. my buddy graham is currently enduring hardship there. sniff sniff. but it's so worth it!
